World Quilt NewsCongratulations to Victorian quilter Linda Steele who has been awarded Best of Australia in the World Quilt Competition Xlll for her quilt “Crazy About Spring”. 13 Australian quilters entered 14 wonderful quilts in the World Quilt Competition which is part of the World Quilt Show. Five were first time entrants. Tanya McRae of Wonthaggi has entered each World Quilt Competition. See Down Under Quilts magazine issue 137 for a story & detail images of the Australian quilts. World Quilt Competition was displayed at various venues in the United States. It will be seen in Manchester, New Hampshire August 13-16, at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza (Greater Philadelphia Area) in September, the Pacific International Quilt Festival (San Francisco Bay Area) in October and at the Grand Finale of the 2009 World Quilt Competition XIII, the World Quilt Show, Florida November 13-15, 2009. |
